Durban Curry Recipe Book Shortlisted for International Prize

Durban Curry, a cookbook produced by Erica Platter and Clinton Friedman has been shortlisted for the best book of the year In the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards celebrate global cookbook and wine book publishing. The awards were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau, President of Paris Cookbook Fair and Gourmand Magazine. It features the best from 100 countries and is considered the food publishing version of the Oscars. Platter and Friendman’s Durban Curry will be judged at the Best in the World Awards ceremony in Yantai, China, June 8-11, 2015.

Competitors include books from China, Germany, and Spain. The only other African finalist is from Uganda. Other notable entrants include one of France’s most famous chefs, Michael Roux.

This is the third book by Platter and Friedman to receive international acclaim.
