BEER & BOERIE FESTIVAL – 21 September
BEER & BOERIE FESTIVAL is making its way to Durban this weekend.
For Durbanites who love beer (let’s be honest, this would be most of you!) and didn’t have enough at Bierfest last weekend, this one’s for you!
The festival will play host to 40 different beers which you will have the unique opportunity to taste (and buy) and with names such as African Moon Brewing Company, Odyssey Craft Brewery, The Nottingham Road Brewing Company and That Brewing Co. to mention a few, who wouldn’t want to taste!
But let’s not forget the Boerie.
Fun Fact 1: Boerewors is the Afrikaans words boer (“farmer”) and wors (sausage).
Fun Fact 2: Your neighbour’s braai always smells better than your own!
There will be several boerewors makers attending the day to showcase their best and to tantalize your taste buds, to name a few Quills Foods, Hope Meat Supplies and Highbury Meats (100% organic). If you are wondering about the kids – moenie worry nie, they haven’t been forgotten. There will be a jumping castle, face painting and if they not boerie fans, I am sure a yummy hotdog will go down well.
Now, a festival is no fun if there is no competition and this festival has just that. The Beer & Boerie will be judged, winners selected and prizes awarded! So bring the family, rally up your friends and come enjoy the day.
Best of luck to all entrants!
