Jeremy Loops at Old Mutual Music at the Lake – Durban Botanic Gardens

At the 2013 MK Awards this multi-talented artist received the prestigious award for the best solo artist in South Africa! He has played all over the country including at our beloved Splashy Fen and is making big waves internationally! Away from the limelight he helps run the social business Greenpop which focuses on greening and sustainable living. You may have heard his name and music, but if you are reading this and asking who Jeremy Loops is keep reading because I am about to tell you.

Best known for his layering of sounds, Capetonian Jeremy Loops uses a loop pedal to brew his flavourful melodies. For those of you wondering how this is done, let me explain keeping in theme with the recent and successful Good Food and Wine Show.

1 x Jeremy Loops

1 x loop pedal

Several x musical instruments

1 x voice for singing and beatboxing

Add as needed:

1 x rapper Motheo Moleko

1 x saxophonist Jamie Faull

Take all the above ingredients, layer as desired, mix together in front of a live audience… add a cup of folk inspiration, spice as needed with some reggae, hip-hop and gypsy-jazz. The end result is a unique musical fusion that is easy on the ear… the flavourful songs will leave you wanting more.

Loops is on his way to Durban this coming weekend in celebration of Women’s Month and will surely be delighting and entertaining the masses. This is a show not to be missed so book your tickets and let the countdown begin!
