Durban Ice Rink
A Forgotten Gem.
From wiping out to diving, slipping and sliding, Durban Ice rink is definitely worth the ride. On my birthday I decided to slide on down to the ice rink to relive my childhood days where I was far more supple and daring. To the surprise of us all, we discovered we were still able to stay standing and even pull off a trick or two who said you can’t teach old dogs new tricks?
The Ice rink has stood its test of time and with some splashes of paint and some loving upkeep, the ice rink was really a pleasant and welcoming experience. The new management has seemed to keep this Durban landmark alive and acquired friendly and accommodating staff. They were very patient and helpful to the multiple queries our group had.
The Ice rink caters for all ages and has a variety of events should you get ice fever and want to try all that they have to offer. They offer Ice Hockey for the pro skaters, birthday parties and Broom Hockey for team or group events, Disco Saturdays for the John Travolta in you and for the average Joe’s out there like me, they have sessions daily for those that just want to rock up and skate.
If you are looking for something different for you and your mates to have a great outing, I would suggest heading down to the Durban ice rink. Their prices are very reasonable for 2 hour sessions and you get to have some fun as well as an awesome full body workout – if you fall as much as I did!
