The Barnyard Theatre, Gateway – Thank you for the music

The Barnyard Theatre is given a barnyard-type feel with wooden benches and accents throughout. The lanterns and soft lighting create a cozy and relaxing ambience.

One of the great things about this venue is that you can bring in your own picnic basket with snacks, which you are welcome to snack on before and during the show. If you don’t bring your own snacks there are pizzas etc. on sale but be prepared for a bit of a wait due to the high volume of orders in at one time. I would suggest popping down to Mac D’s if you are famished. No drinks are permitted to be brought in but they do have a well stocked bar with friendly and efficient barmen to assist you. Drinks are slightly overpriced in my opinion but if this is a once in a blue moon night out, then heck why not!

Thank you for the music is the latest production showcasing and is running until the 14th of July. Tickets are selling fast, so book now to avoid disappointment.

A tribute to three of the most influential and iconic groups of all time, ABBA, the Bee Gees and Queen, this show takes the audience back in time with hits such as, Mamma Mia, Waterloo, The Show Must Go On, Stayin’ Alive and To Love Somebody.

The cast are accompanied by an amazing band on drums, piano, base and electric guitar – one of which takes the audience by complete surprise and sings an incredible solo! Wardrobe is tastefully done and in my opinion… Queen most certainly stole the show!

The ABBA ladies were sweet and for the guys out there, easy on the eye with angelic voices and great harmonies. The Bee Gees boys had the audience in good spirits dressing up as women and more often than not sporting some very tight pants – perhaps this explains how they hit those high notes!

All in all it is a great show worth seeing and it had the audience singing along. By the end of the night, everyone was up on their feet dancing!
