The Mercury Wine Week (28th – 30th August 2013)
The Mercury Wine Week, dubbed SA’s Premier Wine Event is on its way to Durban once again playing host some of the leading wine producers and estates in South Africa. The event has been tantalizing the Durban social scene since 1979 believing that “Everyone should be able to afford to drink good wine every day” fact is, we all enjoy a good wine at an affordable price – no wonder the event is so popular!
If you are tired of drinking the usual plonk, if you want to add some class and sophistication to your life, if you want to find a new favorite or if you love wine just as much as I do, then this is an event you should not miss! Let your inner wine lover get lost and explore the wonderful variety of wines on show, white, red, rose, dessert or sparkling. What is your flavor?
From the old favorites like Nederburg to some new treasures which you may not have been exposed to before, The Mercury Wine Week has it all and at the heart of it, raising funds for the beautiful children at the Hibberdene Children’s Home which is situated on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast. A significant amount of money raised will be donated to a project specifically run to allow these underprivileged, often orphaned children the opportunity to experience the fun of a seaside holiday – as all children should (think back to the carefree days you spent as a child on the beach with your folks).
So, why not open your heart and a bottle of wine in support of this year’s event, you will have opportunity to sample some of the wines and buy should you fall in love. What better way to enjoy the fruits of attending by sipping on a glass of your new favorite at home.
