Mnweni, βthe place of fingersβ, is located between the Royal Natal National Park and the Cathedral range in the heart of the Drakensberg escarpment. In years past, this stretch of the Drakensberg was affectionately seen by hardy mountaineers as βremote and treacherousβ as the paths are βlong and steepβ. The terrain is mountainous and the weather unpredictable.
Founded in the winter of 2000 by trail-running pioneers Bruce Arnette and Mark Tannian, this iconic race has grown from just 11 participants and the 40km is now LIMITED TO 250 participants.
