The Drakensberg Northern Trail returns for its 11th edition, taking us back to an iconic and much-loved venue β The Border Post. This historic setting delivers big mountain energy, unfiltered trail beauty, and that unmistakable DNT atmosphere runners have come to love over the past decade.
Since its launch, DNT has grown into one of KZNTRβs flagship events, drawing runners from across the country to test themselves against the rugged terrain and breathtaking scenery of the northern Drakensberg. This year, weβre thrilled to return to The Border Post, where open ridgelines, steep climbs, wild mountain weather, and expansive views combine for a truly unforgettable trail experience.
Whether you’re tackling the demanding 42km Mountain Marathon, taking on the 20km challenge, or enjoying the accessible 11km and 7km options, DNT offers something for every trail runner β from seasoned mountain athletes to families looking for a memorable adventure.
A strong community feel has always defined DNT, and the 11th edition continues that tradition. With plenty of accommodation options nearby, runners can settle in for a full trail weekend and make the most of their time in the mountains.
