Gateway’s Greedy Buddha Ups the Ante for Summer

With a 4.5-star Trip Advisor ranking and currently placed 7th in Durban on Trip Advisor’s listed restaurants, the Greedy Buddha has upped its game by expanding the menu with two delectable additions.

Previously focusing on tapas-style smaller portions of southeast Asian cuisine, Greedy Buddha, situated in one of Durban’s most sought-after venues in the Gateway Theatre of Shopping precinct, now offers a series of gourmet main dishes and an innovative Sushi offering.

“Diners were asking for slightly bigger portions,” says owner Jess Watts, “so together with Head Chef Vernolan Reddy, we’ve overhauled the existing Signature Mains, to elevate them to another level… and make them outstanding. “

“Our focus remains on great flavours, interesting textures and tantalising tastes that showcase the full spectrum of Asian influences our food is renowned for. We have introduced 11 new dishes, including giving some of the old favourites, a new twist.”

“The addition of a Sushi offering will be unlike anything you will find in Durban currently and we’re really excited to share this with diners,” enthuses Watts.

With the warmer weather on the way, Greedy Buddha’s popular outdoor deck, really comes into it’s own. Overlooking Gateway’s cosmopolitan Palm Boulevard, it’s the perfect place to soak up the festive atmosphere, while enjoying a sundowner or an memorable meal.

In anticipation of Summer, the restaurant’s Cocktail Menu has also received an overhaul. Working with one of Durban’s top mixologists, Haroon Haffajee, 10 cocktails will get a new Asian twist, to make them even more distinctive and bring them up to date with contemporary trends.
