Riverside Hotel in Durban
Check out the bottom for the full breakdown!
This past weekend we were treated to a lovely experience at the newly revamped Riverside Hotel in Durban.
Arriving on Saturday, check-in was a breeze and we quickly settled down into our luxurious suite, overlooking the Umgeni River, as well as the Durban sea. The view was absolutely breath-taking!
The suite was a mini-house, equipped with two TV’s, an expresso machine, a kitchen with a microwave (perfect for those who prefer to cook their own meals) and a HUGE bed. We loved the fact that we could each have a TV to ourselves – this made for being selfish a lot easier!
The rugby was on that night, so we decided to head down to Hops to watch the game. However, the place was jam-packed and we had to head to another location. We settled on Comics, a quaint little restaurant up the road from our hotel. The food was delicious and we got to watch the game! At half time, we headed back to our hotel room to watch the rest of the game.
We spent the night at Gateway, watching ‘Dumb & Dumber Too’ and loved coming back to our room, which was always managed well and clean.
We slept so well, probably the best sleep we’ve had in ages! The room when its curtains were closed, allowed for a dark, cosy atmosphere. We woke up the next morning feeling so refreshed and ready to take on the day.
The breakfast buffet was scrumptious, with a large variety of food to choose from – We were absolutely spoilt for choice! We had starters and desert with our breakfast. The waitresses were very prompt and polite, giving us a great service that most restaurants lack.
We did encounter one small problem with our door getting stuck, and our hotel card not working. However, we were very impressed with the way the staff handled it. After notifying them of the issue, they came within 5 minutes to fix the door and provided us with a new card.
All in all, the Riverside Hotel is an amazing hotel to stay at, especially with the new revamp! It’s central, close to the Moses Mabhida Stadium and the Durban beachfront, making it the perfect place for anyone visiting Durban.
This is where one can have a true #Durbanite experience.
