The Sani Pass (and Lesotho!) Wild Flower Walk is an adventure for those Durbanite’s who enjoy nature and are looking for something slightly different to do on Sunday 26 January 2014! A great way to explore some of South Africa’s most exotic wild flowers with guided botanists. An adventure which takes you close to the highest peak in Southern Africa, Thabane Ntlenyana (3482m high) which means “Beautiful little mountain” in Sesotho. Book your spot for an experience of a lifetime, details below.
Meeting Place: The Giants Cup Café, 10 ½ km on the (tarred) Sani Pass Road (1km before Sani Pass Hotel)
Meeting Time: Registration is between 6.30 and 7am.

down the Pass.
3- 3.30pm: Vehicles rendezvous at South African border post to provide transport back to The

Border Formalities:
Every participant MUST have a valid passport. South African citizens as well as most of Western Europe do NOT require visas for Lesotho. Contact us if you are unsure as to whether your nationality requires a visa. If you do require a visa, they must be acquired from a Lesotho High Commission in advance. Crossing the physical boundary without going through the border post at either end is an offence and can land you in jail, so please ensure you have completed the necessary formalities.
We have attached further down this document a copy of the Immigration Form for Lesotho. Please print this out and fill it in before you come and make sure you have the completed form with your passport on the day. Instructions on filling in the form are on the same page as the form itself below.
Indemnity Forms:
To save time on the day, we have also attached below the Indemnity Form. We would ask everyone to print out and fill in one form for each person participating and have it ready to hand in at Registration.
What to Bring:
hiking boots; lunch; lots of water to drink; hiking stick; hat and sunscreen; warm clothing; raingear.
Flower books/binoculars/cameras optional
At the End:
Hot, tired but uplifted is hopefully how you will arrive back at The Giants Cup Café at the end of the day. A cup of tea or coffee and some of Simone’s wonderful cakes await you, and in addition, The Giants Cup Café will also have on sale, both before and after the walk: hats; bottled water; snacks; Elsa Pooley wild flower field guide books; Sani Pass flowers, mammals, birds and reptiles posters; WESSA publications; various indigenous plant species; Beth Fey cards; work by local artists
Join WESSA:
You may be inspired to add your weight to efforts to save our planet, so why not pick up a membership form and join WESSA (the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa).
