Sandra Thomas, owner of Satin Candy, together with The Perfume CO. recently joined forces to collaborate on developing a fragrance for the unique lingerie stores in KZN.
“The creation of this fragrance to complement our brand was inspired by key consumer insights appealing to our target market as well as allows us to form an emotional connection with our customers and expand our brand’s touch points,” said Thomas.
She put forth a brief to perfumer Monet Viviers, to create something feminine and soft with a vanilla note. This was then taken to the laboratory for the team to begin the process of sourcing fragrances that would appeal to Thomas’s olfactory senses. Thomas didn’t require a uniquely engineered bespoke scent, which is what the perfume Co specialises in, but rather something more familiar and elegant.
The Satin Candy perfume was created featuring main accords of Vanilla, Almond, Powdery, Fruity and lastly, Woody. The top notes are Apricot, Plum and Coconut, while the heart notes feature Tuberose, Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley, Rose, Brazilian Rosewood and Caraway. The base notes finish the fragrance off with Sandalwood, Almond, Vanilla and Musk.
The outcome of the process was the now very popular “Vanilla Candy” formulation which was selected as the Satin Candy signature scent.
