With a combined musical expertise that spans 35 years, both artists will bring their unique sounds to the grassy lawns of Sugar Rush Park, in what is anticipated to be a sold out show. With only 2 000 tickets available, fans can enjoy an exclusive and intimate show where two of South Africa’s musical legends collaborate in a one-of-a-kind experience, just for Ballito.
“As tickets are quickly selling out to our fourth and final concert for 2017, we really feel like we have delivered on our promise to offer locals the very best family entertainment right in their very own back yard,” says Marriott Ballito Beats Series Director Stu Berry. “We’ve witnessed as the interest has grown with each show; a clear indication that North Coast locals are eager for the opportunity to spend time outdoors with family and friends, enjoying picnics, catching up and singing along to some of the greatest musical talent South Africa has to offer.”
Over the course of the last decade and a half, well known singer and songwriter, Ard Matthews, has been honing his craft and moving people the world over. As the front man of South African band Just Jinjer, his indelible lyrics and melody arrangements led the way to the incredible success of the band; with their debut album ‘All Comes Round’ becoming one of the biggest selling rock genre albums of all time in South Africa. In 2012, Ard released his debut solo album to critical acclaim, and continues to perform as both a solo act as well as front man for Just Jinjer, with many well-known and talented musicians joining him on stage.
One such well-known and talented musician is none other than South African Rock legend, Arno Carstens. During his 20-year career, Arno Carstens has released 12 albums; 5 as lead singer of Springbok Nude Girls, 1 as part of Electronica project Bhelltower and 6 as a solo artist, Arno Carstens. He has performed with some of the world’s best and performed at some of the most legendary and exclusive music festivals around the world, including Isle of Wight, Glastonbury and V Festival. Arno’s live performance set includes the hits from his career as front man of The Springbok Nude Girls, many of the beloved and most celebrated songs from his career as a platinum selling, award winning English solo artist and some popular cover tracks; both in English and Afrikaans.
Opening the show will be 25-year-old musical prodigy Seb Goldswain, who is sure to wow fans with his tricks of the guitar trade. Seb is known for his versatility, with a skill set that ranges from jazz to acoustic blues and rock. He has toured and performed across the globe and shared the stage with artists such as George Ezra, Matthew Mole, Dan Patlansky, Kahn Morbee from The Parlotones, Karen Zoid, The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and Ard Matthews from Just Jinjer.
The Marriott Ballito Beats Music Series will once again offer the North Coast community an opportunity to see award-winning acts performing right in their very own backyard – adding fresh and exciting entertainment to the Ballito social scene. Fans are encouraged to book their tickets via Webtickets.co.za or at the Ballito Junction PnP money desk as soon as possible, as tickets are limited to only 2 000. Tickets are available for only R130 per ticket for adults, children 5-12 years of age are only R70, and children under 5 are welcome free of charge. Gates open at 1pm and ticket holders are welcome to bring camping chairs and picnic blankets to make the most of the beautiful setting at Sugar Rush Park. Food and beverages can be bought on site, alternatively, picnic baskets are allowed, but no beverages will be allowed onto site.
