This past weekend we were treated to a holiday away in our own city at TsogoSun’s Suncoast Towers. Conveniently situated in Durban with just a stone’s throw away from the popular beachfront, it is the ideal place for any tourist visiting our beautiful city.
Upon arrival, we were guided to a secure underground parking from where we made the short trip up to the reception area. Entering the hotel, we were greeted with big smiles from happy employees, making you look forward to your stay there.

The check-in procedure was fast, and we were directed to our floor. The hotel room itself was everything one would expect. I loved the fact that the staff left us a plate of assorted fruit, with a bottle of wine that were complimentary during the stay!
We settled in and unpacked our bags, before heading up to the spa for our couples treatment. The spa itself was probably the best spa I have ever been to in my life. It was so clean, and the staff there were so accommodating, I almost didn’t want to leave! After filling out a questionnaire so that they can customize a type of massage for you, we were told to change into the provided spa outfit. We had an incredible one hour full body massage which left us both feeling so relaxed and refreshed! I loved the fact that we were able to take our time to freshen up and use their shower facilities before leaving.

We made our way back to our hotel room where we got ready for dinner at Suncoast. Walking through a short passage, which led right into Suncoast, we walked past many restaurants before deciding to dine at Cape Town Fish Market. We both enjoyed Calamari strips with an added side. Suncoast has such an atmosphere about it, with all different kinds of people coming to share memories with each other.
Going to sleep that night was easy, with the sound of the waves crashing – everything was so peaceful.
The next morning we were excited to try out the breakfast buffet at Jeera, and wow, did Suncoast Towers not disappoint! With a wide selection to choose from, we felt spoilt for choice! I ended up trying a bit of everything as I really could not make up my mind on what I wanted to have. The food and service was fantastic, with our waiter offering us tea/coffee and taking our plates as soon as we were done with them.

We decided to use the day to take a walk along the Durban beachfront, which was just a short trip from the hotel. (The hotel gate opens right up to the beachfront.) Some people were on bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards and segways while others were just walking or running. It really was lovely to see so many people enjoying our beautiful coastline!
All in all, our weekend away was amazing, and I would highly recommend Suncoast Towers as the place to stay should you be visiting Durban!
