“Having heard about the legendary figure in the hair care industry I was over the moon about experiencing one of Gerald Wells classy salons.
The staff at Gerald Wells in Gateway Theatre of Shopping are divine and make you feel right at home.
There’s nothing quite like the buzz of a hair salon in full swing, citrus shampoo scents, sounds of blow dryers and scissor snips all add to the electric atmosphere.
I was welcomed upon arrival by my expert stylist, Lisa who sat down with me as an old friend would and started discussing the looks that were on trend for summer. We decided that blonde was the way forward, so I agreed to try something new.
Having the type of hair that definitely has a mind of its own, I was grateful for style advice on how to cut my hair and which products I should be using to to cope with the Durban humidity. The fact that I could pop across to the Splush store to stock up on recommended products was ideal. I felt completely comfortable in Lisa’s capable hands, it was obvious that she has lots of experience and passion for her career.
I received the full monty – a full head of highlights – toner – treatment – cut and blow wave complete with a beautiful straightened look. I left the salon feeling like an absolute celebrity ready for a Premiere event!
Happy is an understatement, I love my new do, and can highly recommend Gerald Wells salon to anyone looking for their next hair experience.”

I recently treated myself to a rejuvenating session here, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing.
My visit started with a 30-minute back, shoulder, and neck massage, and from the moment I stepped into the treatment room, I knew I was in for something special. The space was the most calming I’ve ever experienced — soft candlelight flickered against a beautifully painted pink wall, and the air was filled with the most heavenly scent.
I personally prefer a firm pressure massage, and my therapist delivered exactly what I needed, melting away all the tension in my shoulders and upper back. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and relief, leaving me feeling completely refreshed.
Following my massage, I moved on to a luxurious spa manicure that felt like a true pampering session. This wasn’t just your standard file-and-polish… The treatment included a gentle exfoliation to leave my hands feeling silky smooth, a deeply nourishing mask, and a hand massage that had me nearly drifting off again.
To elevate the experience even further, I was offered a selection of beverages and opted for a cappuccino from the café next door. Sipping on a perfectly brewed cappuccino while getting my nails done? Absolute bliss.
I left with the most gorgeous set of lilac gel nails that I can’t stop looking at.
