Royalty has never looked this good!
Upon arriving, we were greeted by a kind valet who took our suitcases and welcomed us with fancy cocktails, before escorting us to reception. As we checked in, we were greeted by Angela, the Marketing Co-Ordinator of the hotel who gave us the grand tour.

Nature is a beauty and Zimbali is known for it – after all the name, “Zimbali” adapted its title from isiZulu meaning “valley of flowers”. You also get to witness a bit of a golf on your walk, just watch your head as some of the golfers have quite a swing!

We eventually arrived at Valley of the pools, which is a kiddies favourite – as it’s a pool shaped like Mickey Mouse. Upon our arrival, a beautiful picnic was set-up with some wine, blankets, pillows and some yummy savoury and sweet treats.
It’s a perfect date for two, with the ocean right in front of you. I mean, what more can we ask for?
If you’re looking for a more relaxed experience to keep oneself occupied, then the Willow Stream Spa will not disappoint. Inside the exclusive Fairmont Zimbali Resort, the spa definitely lives up to the expectation of pampering making it an unforgettable experience.
The staff were beyond helpful by escorting us from the waiting room to the massage room. After your body is relaxed, wait for it, we were then escorted to the relaxation room. This room provides you with tea, coffee and some snacks, where you can read a magazine and take in the scenery.
You also have the option of also using the sauna room, to let off more steam.
Either way, you are in heaven!

Staying fit is vital, and Fairmont have definitely considered that in day-to-day activities.
Day two involved us getting in a little gym session at the Fitness Centre. Fairmont Zimbali Resort provide workout wear by Reebok, which was delivered to our room, making us look stylish.
The Fitness Centre will get your heart racing and your muscles pumping with treadmills, free weights and a stretching area for those core exercises. You can do all of this with the Indian Ocean staring right back at you!
We decided to continue our fitness streak and gather up some bicycles and go cycling. The resort have BMW bicycles available where you can cycle around the estate. You may even encounter some wildlife on your cycle journey, it can be a buck or some monkeys, either way it’s a sight to see. If you find yourself lost, there is always staff around to help you, which made us feel safe.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Coral Tree definitely don’t disappoint with an endless buffet overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Ayoba! is a Mexican cantina with wood-fired pizzas and barbeque specialites in a rustic, beach club setting. You can even head over to the Ma Khaza Bar by the pool for a cocktail or two. Speaking of cocktails, 31 Degrees is famous for them, with signature cocktails in a vibrant lobby bar ambience.
If you’re a wine lover, then Vinum is your go to. A wine bar and cocktail lounge which has an extensive list of renowned South African wines. If you’re looking at authentic Indian-fusion cuisine, then OSA Restaurant is a definite must, as they are the resort’s signature restaurant.
