We are excited to announce the return of Pecanwood Oktoberfest – South Africa’s most versatile Sport and Lifestyle festival. This year sees all the fun and entertainment you’ve come to expect, with the addition of new and exciting attractions.

Escape to the KZN Midlands for Pecanwood Oktoberfest between 28 – 29 October for the perfect ‘get out of the city’ event, situated only one hour from Durban and 15 minutes from Pietermaritzburg. This year, the theme of the festival is the exhilarating #ChooseYourAdventure – built around selecting your own personal adventure at the festival, whether you are a sporting enthusiast, beer connoisseur, thrill seeker or just want to enjoy some of South Africa’s top music acts live on stage. There is truly an experience to suit all tastes.

With over 6 000 people last year, Pecanwood Oktoberfest was voted SA’s Number One Sport & Lifestyle festival and KZN’s biggest beer fest.

Tired of the same old trail runs? They are often disappointing to many people that are seeking a different course that they have not seen before or just a course that can challenge or excite them. This in many cases is hard to find. We have spent the last year designing and setting trail run courses that will be that one course that sticks out heads above the rest for its originality, diversity and unspoilt routes as some of its trails have never been run before. These trails include a wide variety of single tracks, valleys, forests and escarpments set in the breath taking KZN Midlands that will be hard to beat. Our trails have been set for runners looking for a challenge as well as the runners just looking for a great fun run with breath taking scenery.

This year we have also created not just a mountain bike race but an MTB experience like none other in the country. With carefully designed courses for all skill sets, this race can be done by race snakes as well as the weekend warrior. Courses include a wide variety of single tracks, valleys, forests and escarpments set in the breath taking surroundings of the KZN Midlands. The courses that we have designed can never be too hard nor too easy, they have been specialised and carefully selected to cater for every type of rider.

For the Enduro bike fans. We have arranged South Africa’s No 1 Enduro rider, Travis Teasdale to perform a training day on the specialised Enduro X course that was designed by Travis Teasdale and his team. You will be giving a crash course of the track and be giving a unique training experience to the individual specialised obstacles that have been laid out by the top 10 rider in the world. After which, you will be able to test your own skills out on the course for the day and then come and enjoy the rest of the festivities that the Pecanwood Oktoberfest has to offer.

Last but not least for the 4×4 enthusiasts, the Landrovers owners club have combined forces with the PMB Landrover team and will be putting on a unique show case of souped up vehicles with your top of the range luxury landrovers. You will be picked up in style and be treated to a VIP experience on the track that has been especially built and be taken back into the festival to carry on with the festivities. For any 4×4 fan, this is something not to be missed. In addition to the sporting experience, we also have a wide array of different outdoor activities to entertain you throughout the entire day.

In keeping with the title of KZN’s biggest beer fest, this year Pecanwood Oktoberfest boasts a vast selection of beers from around the country, along with our Wine and Coffee Tasting Tent featuring coffees from around the world. #ChooseYourAdventure continues with fans choosing which of SA’s top bands they’d like to see perform live at the festival. This year’s acts, will be announced soon.
