If you haven’t already heard, the Gateway Celebrity Chef Showdown is on its way Durbanites! We attended last year and it was truly an experience compared to no other and certainly one not to be missed read further on to find out how you can win a table for two!

On each of the restaurant’s evenings, the meals prepared by the celebrities will be in line with the restaurants normal menu offering. Times are 18h30 for 19h00 at R180 per person for a set menu which includes; a starter, main and dessert.

27 August – Stefan Terblanche vs. Leeanda Reddy: Ocean Basket
3 September – Vanessa Marawa vs. Terry Pheto: Circus Circus
10 September – Deena Naidoo vs. Natarah Nadesan: Nino’s
17 September – Gangs of Ballet vs. Rosie Motene: Mo-Zam-Bik
24 September – John Webb vs. Tumisho Masha: Café Limone

All winning celebs will take part in a final evening which will be held on 1 October at Beluga.

Each celebrity that competes will select a local charity of their choice at the start of the campaign. 10% of the income generated through these events will be donated to the winning celebrity’s charity of choice.

We are giving ONE lucky food / celeb loving Durbanite the opportunity to win a table for two to the showdown on the 27 August at Ocean Basket where you will witness Stefan Terblanche take on Leeanda Reddy! The dining experience for you and your partner will include selected drinks as well as your starter, main and dessert. To enter, simply leave a comment below telling us why you deserve to win. Competition opens on 21 August 2014 and closes at midday on 25 August 2014, South African Standard Time.
Winner/s will be randomly drawn on 25 August 2014. Durbanite reserves the right to change the draw date.
Winner/s will be notified via email and are required to confirm receipt within 24 hour of notification or redraw will take place.
Subject to these competition rules, Durbanite’s determination of the winners is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
The prizes are non-transferable for cash. If you are the winner, a copy of your South African identity document or passport may be required as proof that you are in fact the winner whose name was drawn.
Employees, agents of or consultants to Durbanite and, their immediate family members (parents, children, brothers and sisters), spouse(s), life partners, business partners and associates are excluded from this competition.

I deserve this because I am a HUGE fan of Stefan Terblanche and Leeanda Reddy, not only do I love cooking but I enjoy baking and also Ocean Basket is one of my favourite restaurants, I would love to see these two go head to head.

Wow! what an awesome competition! Would love to win this simply cause I LOVE FOOD… think it would be an amazing experience to see two great chefs go head to head all the while enjoying good company at a great restaurant! Yummy, getting hungry just thinking about it 🙂

I would love to see two chefs take it on, my favourite TV show is Iron Chef America and it is so awesome to watch them compete, to be able to see two chefs compete in real life would be something I can cross off my bucket list. I love cooking and I LOVE LOVE watching chefs cook

OH my hat!!!!!! To be able to watch Stefan Terblanche would be a dream come true, not only is he a great rugby player but he can be called a chef because his cooking is fantastic!!!!! This would be fantastic

I would LOVE to win this as I am a huge foodie, always keen on trying new food experiences and love the fact that Durban now has exciting opportunities and events like this one to try. Not to mention being a massive rugby fan to put the cherry on top of what sounds like an awesome evening 😉

I would love to win this as I am a seafood fanatic as well as I love to eat at Ocean Basket but don’t get to go there as often I would like to except for special occasions. I am on diet and I have been on it for a while so would be nice to be a little naughty even if its just for one day to indulge in the delicious meals and desserts prepared by Stefan Terblanche and Leeanda Reddy. This is would most definitely be priceless to be at such an awesome restaurant and one of my Favourite Gateway Theatre of Shopping Centre- Ocean Basket.

id love to win, because i recently started dating a guy who is crazy about food and who is an ex-chef(not for too long) theres room of him starting over his career in food again, what better motivation than watching one of his idols in rubgy kick ass at the table! come on please give me this chance! !

I should win as for a change it would be lovely to be spoilt by someone else’s cooking and by the way… a celebrity cook off!! Also to enjoy the lovely atmosphere at the restaurant will be a bonus. Super awesomeness!!
