Durban International Boat & Lifestyle Show Draws Waves

Durban Marina was a hub of activity this weekend as swarms of crowds attended the Durban International Boat & Lifestyle Show.

Attendees were granted a perfect weekend of warm, sunny weather as they browsed through a fleet of impressive boats, from one-man dinghies to luxury catamarans. There was also a stall showcasing miniature, detailed ships for collectors. Boat enthusiasts were granted access to some of the bigger boats, experiencing firsthand the key features of these majestic vehicles.

An extensive food court, an on-site spa with free massages, segway rides and kiddies activities made this a fun family outing. There was also lifestyle section with towcars, 4×4s, caravans and other outdoor equipment. But the showstopper was definitely the cardboard boat race at midday (tide dependant) where participants could race their self-constructed boats (made only from cardboard and duct tape).  Contestants showed great skill both in construct and in racing, highlighting an already fun weekend.
