Recently, the Pavilion Shopping Centre, Croxley and New Era Stationers visited local schools, Chesterville Secondary School and Christopher Khumalo Higher Primary School, both situated in the Chesterville area in Durban, to donate stationery.

At the start of the festive season and as part of The Journey of Giving campaign , a massive stationery drive was initiated by The Pavilion Shopping Centre, in conjunction with IN Community Projects, Croxley and New Era Stationers , encouraging the public to donate stationery which would be handed out to selected underprivileged schools at the beginning of the school year.

“During the first years of schooling, even the youngest child needs basic learning equipment and resources to lay the foundation for a positive learning experience in the years that lie ahead. Children also need to be in a stimulating environment for quality education to take place, which will help to keep them in the classroom for longer. Education is the key to success success and The Pavilion Shopping Centre is passionate about supporting initiatives which aid children’s education in our communities ,” Nisha Kemraj (The Pavilion Shopping Centre General Manager)  said about what motivated them to start the stationary drive that collected hundreds of items for these schools.

The aforementioned organisations were proud to present over 500 stationery packs to many well deserving learners who were excited to receive the gift.

The Pavilion Shopping Centre will continue to work hand in hand with these schools on future CSI initiatives.
