STER-KINEKOR ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE STER-KINEKOR PRELIM BOUT FOR EFC AFRICA 31 AT SELECT CINEMAS ON 03 JULY

In an exciting new venture, Ster-Kinekor and EFC AFRICA announce an exclusive addition to the live, in-cinema offering of EFC AFRICA 31 on 03 July, with the launch of the Ster-Kinekor Prelim Bout. This headline fight, part of the EFC AFRICA 31 line-up and only to be seen in Ster-Kinekor cinemas outside the live event, features the much-anticipated clash between four massively popular fighters, Feiteira (2 wins – 0 losses) vs Katz (6 wins – 3 losses) and D. Hawkey (22 wins – 11 losses) vs Visser (0 wins – 2 losses).

As fans of the explosive action of EFC AFRICA have come to expect, if they don’t have access to tickets for fight night, Ster-Kinekor has them covered! South Africa’s leading cinema chain will once again be screening all 12 bouts of EFC AFRICA 31, live on its big screens and with the latest in digital projection, in select cinemas on Thursday, 03 July. If you can’t be ringside for this event being staged at the Coca-Cola Dome in Northgate, then watching all the action from all 12 fights, in this larger-than-life format, is definitely the next best thing!

Bradley Knowles, General Manager: Marketing for Ster-Kinekor Theatres, states: “The introduction of an exclusive headline fight, live from the venue into our cinemas, is a real scoop for us. We are delighted to announce that the first Ster-Kinekor Prelim Bout will feature the formidable Feiteira vs Katz and D. Hawkey vs Visser, in what promises to be a real action-packed fight.

“The cinema experience of EFC AFRICA has to be seen to be believed! Every punch thrown, kick released and lockdown, seen through the clarity of digital projection, can be appreciated and applauded as if you were ringside. With all 12 fights screened into our cinemas live from the venue, a comfortable cinema seat really is the best place to be to watch EFC AFRICA 31.”

Ster-Kinekor’s sports viewing evolution is possible as a result of the recent conversion of all of its cinemas to the latest in digital technology. Its substantial investment in the highest quality, live satellite broadcast equipment and a continuously tested and monitored signal ensures a stable live broadcast of all the fight action.

Bookings for EFC AFRICA 31 at the twelve select Ster-Kinekor cinemas countrywide are open. Tickets cost R120.00 and audiences are treated to all 12 of the scheduled fights as they take place, broadcast live and in state-of-the-art digital projection on the big screen. Ster-Kinekor SK Club, Discovery Vitality and Edgars Club movie card benefits and discounts do apply. All cinema-goers will also receive a complimentary EFC event guide and live commentary during the event.

The EFC AFRICA 32 Ster-Kinekor Prelim Bout headliners were announced today, and they are massive. The ‘God of War’, Durban’s Peter Nyide welcomes Johannesburg’s sensational Wade Groth to the featherweight division, and Cape Town Knock Out specialist heavyweights, Sors ‘Guru’ Grobbelaar and ‘Knife’ Didier-Kilola, go head to head. The event is scheduled for 07 August.
