LEEANDA REDDY WINS GATEWAY’S CELEBRITY CHEF SHOWDOWN AT OCEAN BASKET

Published

on

Isidingo actress, Leeanda Reddy has won the first evening of Gateway’s Celebrity Chef Showdown where she competed with rugby legend, Stefan Terblanche on Wednesday, 27 August.

The competition took place at seafood restaurant, Ocean Basket. “I’m so proud of my new title. It’s a feather in my cap. I’m still so shocked because I honestly did not expect to win,” says Leeanda.

Leeanda’s winning menu comprised of; cheesy garlic prawn roll for starters; six prawn curry for the main course and mud pie with ice cream for dessert. “I learned so much during my time in the Ocean Basket kitchen. Cooking is a very selfless craft – your sole purpose is to please the recipient of the meal. Nothing beats seeing the smile of a satisfied customer,” says Leeanda.

Stefan Terblanche didn’t expect to lose at Ocean Basket, after he won against Tatum Keshwar last year. “I’m sad that I didn’t win. I thought that doing this for the second time would give me an advantage. It also seemed easier this year because I knew exactly what to expect. Congratulations to Leeanda. Because I lost to her, I’m expecting her to win at the finals at Beluga. At least then I can say that I lost to the best Celebrity Chef in Durban”.

Visitors to Gateway are invited to make bookings to attend any of the five remaining evenings in order to enjoy a night of good food, entertainment and healthy competition.
