The Script tells KZN fans: It’s going to be amazing!

Published

on

“We can’t wait to come and do a show for you guys – it’s going to be amazing!” That’s the promise from Irish pop rock band The Script, who will be jetting into Durban later this week.

The band’s Glen Power says they have been rehearsing flat-out for 10 hours a day to make sure fans who will be joining them at Durban’s ICC this Friday (6 February 2015) have the time of their lives. “We can’t wait! We really can’t wait!” says Power.

The guys from The Script have been in SA before so on East Coast Breakfast this morning, Darren Maule and Natarah Nadesan decided to test their knowledge of South Africanisms – and he didn’t do too badly!

Question: What is a jol?

Glen: “You mean concert?”

Question: What is a robot?

Glen: “Oh damn, no one ever told me that, I don’t know what it is!”

Question: What does the word Babalas mean?

Glen: “I’m guessing it has something to do with Guinness or a bar”

Question: What is bunny chow?

Glen: “It sound like a meal”

The Script have sold over 20 million albums worldwide since they burst onto the music scene in 2001, with all three of their albums going multi-platinum throughout the world. They have promised fans all their biggest hits including Superheroes, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, Breakeven (Falling To Pieces) and For The First Time.

They will be supported by five-time SAMA-nominated and MTV MAMA award-winning Durban band, Gangs of Ballet.

KZN music fans are spoilt for choice over the next few weeks! The KIA 80s Rewind Festival also takes place this weekend with some of the biggest names from the era of neons, legwarmers and headbands. Billy Ocean, Nik Kershaw, Go West, Heather Small from M People, Cutting Crew, Wang Chung and SA bands Cinema and Face To Face will take fans on a nostalgic trip.

UK sensation Passenger will rock Durban’s Botanic Gardens on 13 February 2015; The Parlotones are at the same venue on Valentine’s Day; Michael Buble rolls into town on 17 March 2015 and you can catch Chris Brown in action on 4 April 2015.
