THE REVIVAL BRINGS BACK THE GOOD SPLASHY FEN VIBES

Published

on

The iconic Splashy Fen Music Festival has been incredible so far as you can see in the photos captured by Al Nicholl. Campers continue to enjoy the great sounds and great vibes of The 2016 Revival set in the picturesque setting of the Southern Drakensberg.

With over 3100 attendees, The Splashy Fen Revival has stayed true to its promise of offering campers and day visitors a selection of musical entertainment and relaxing long-weekend activities for the whole family.

Friday night was a hit amongst music-loving fans as Grassy Spark, GoodLuck and Mango Groove performed to a full crowd at the Splashy Fen Main Stage. Mango Groove performed for the first time in Splashy Fen’s 27 years. As the full crowd danced and sang along to the sounds of Lucky Star, leading lady Claire Johnston admitted: “It’s already starting to feel like home.”

Clear skies are predicted for the remainder of the festival, with the Flying Fish River Stage drawing a lot of revellers down to the cool water’s edge for refreshments, swimming and LIVE music. While drum circles kick off each morning in the food court area, yoga sessions down by the river and trail runs to get fans ready for another full day of great entertainment.

Yesterrday’s line-up included the sounds of Xavier Rudd, Jeremy Loops, Rubber DUC, Josh Wantie and Hey Now HEY NOW NOW on the Main Stage; Maramza, Niskerone and Haezer at the Electric Boma; Kabaal Klankbaan, Julian Redpath and Chico Muyo at the Castle Milk Stout Acoustic Shabeen and Gus Brown Band, Sean Koch, Stonejets and Jerry & The Bandits at the Flying Fish River Stage, plus many more.

Tickets are available at www.splashyfen.co.za, the Underberg Country Club, or at the gate. Day rates are as follows: Saturday – R450 and Sunday – R200. Full festival rate is charged and when attendees leave before 09h00 they are refunded based on the days spent on site.
