Once again, the Big Easy’s Head Chef – Janine Fourie – and the Glenelly ambassador, have collaborated on a five-course menu and will take diners on a wine-pairing journey during the evening with a selection of Glenelly’s best wines.
Glenelly’s vineyards cover 60 hectares on the slopes of the Simonsberg in Ida’s Valley, Stellenbosch. The unique terroir, microclimate and heritage of French winemaking has produced some great wines from the estate. The Lady May is Glenelly’s Flagship Estate wine, the finest most elegant and feminine Cabernet Sauvignon in Stellenbosch. Matured for 24 months in new French oak.
The Grand Vin de Glenelly is the estate’s signature red blend – using the highest-quality Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot – which spends 18 months in French oak barrels. The white is a complex Chardonnay, fermented and aged in new 500-litre French oak barrels.
The Glass Collection is a great introduction to Glenelly. It is a selection of premium varietals from the world’s most noble grapes: Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
