We at Durbanite like to support local artists and were lucky enough to meet the guys from Parable Fifteen a few months ago, super down to earth guys! Here is a little bit more about the them…
They say the best songs come from personal experiences and Marc Andrew’s music certainly comes from a very personal place; his is a unique blend of acoustic rock and progressive pop.
Marc’s journey began in Durbz, at the tender age of 14. He wasn’t sure what life had planned for him but it wasn’t long before Marc was playing shows to large crowds and sharing stages with some of the country’s biggest acts. Performing on the same stage as Jason Hartman, Melanie Louw, Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters, Prime Circle and Tree 63.
At the age of 18 Marc travelled to the US to work with award winning South African band Tree 63. While living in Nashville TN, he grew as an artist learning the music business from the inside out but just like the movies, it was not all sunshine and roses. Marc put down the mic, moved back to SA and focused on other ventures but the music “bug” never fully released its claws, he knew at some point, he would return to the music world.
Enter in Marc’s younger brother Bryce Breeds:
Bryce is a musician by nature and thrives in a production environment. His natural ability to structure melodies and quintessential pop hooks has seen him play guitar, piano and bass guitar in multiple environments for most of his life!
After numerous years of back and forth with different musical (and non) ventures for the brothers, they had a brilliant idea and finally sat down together for the first time in more than 10 years and write songs from the heart.
Friends and family heard their songs and encouraged the brothers to “give this band thing a go”, which they did and after much discussion and a name change PARABLE FIFTEEN was born in 2011.
2015 has seen the brothers, having recently joined forces with Josh Betts (acoustic guitar) and Caleb Frow (drums and cajon), release a new single “Rain on the Ocean”.
