It is my first Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend and co-incidentally also our 11th month anniversary in that week. It would be so special to spend the evening with him at this concert seeing as I am working during the day on Valentine’s Day and cannot have a super special day with him…at least a memorable night will mean the world to us, please help us to win!!!

We are theeee biggest fans and I know he will love this surprise seeing as he is bummed that I am working during the day (and that kinda ruined his romantic plans). This would definitely turn his mood and day around!

Milky Chance recently announced their long-awaited return to South Africa with their “Living In A Haze” tour in February 2024 which will see them perform in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. The German Duo are excited to confirm that both Neon Dreams and Sean Koch will join them as support acts on the line-up for their shows in Cape Town (15 February) and Johannesburg (17 February), and Neon Dreams will also join Milky Chance in Durban (18 February) as support act.

Canadian duo Neon Dreams are no strangers to the South African music scene. Their 2019 single “Life Without Fantasies” reached the top of the South African viral charts amassing millions of streams in 2021 during the lockdown. The band connected with tens of thousands of fans online which led to their first sold out headline tour. They have continued to cement themselves in the industry here, having toured the country a number of times over the past few years and return in February 2024 to share the stage with Milky Chance in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

Sean Koch is one of SA’s most-loved indie-folk artists who brings a mixed bag of African and western, influence alongside messages of home, a connection to nature, the ocean and the people around him; to his storytelling, feel-good music. While rooted in his flowing-folk style, his music is diverse. From dance infused songs like ‘Lift You Up’ the standout single from his collection (including the Double MZK & G DOM remix) to the dreamier songs like ‘Feel the Energy’ that carry deeper messages of connection to the natural world and the people that surround us. Ziggy Alberts announces his debut South African tour as he heads to Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town this October

Published

on

By

Ziggy Alberts’ first ever South African visit will anticipate the release of his forthcoming sixth studio album, DANCING IN THE DARK, out 04 November 2022.

Musically, Ziggy’s sound has raised comparisons to the likes of early Ben Howard or Jack Johnson. His sound is laid back, soulful and folk-tinged, and his songwriting is honest and personal. Whilst Ziggy Alberts is similar to his contemporaries in writing about his personal experiences, his music is layered with subtextual references to issues close to his heart, such as the natural world, the human experience and the wider planet.

DANCING IN THE DARK has been driven by real-time releases, including the singles I BELIEVE, TATTOOS, THE GREAT DIVIDE and most recently, THE SUN & THE SEA featuring Donovan Woods, which all find their home on the album. The new record sits in a genre – self-titled by Ziggy – as “Future Folk”. In his own words, “the album is a blend of the honest and raw, with the smoothness and touch of synthesised soundscapes, intentional tuning and programmed organic samples… that reflects accurately the range of experiences we are having as humans in our current world.” Matched with Ziggy’s storytelling and sincere songwriting, DANCING IN THE DARK shows yet another step in Alberts’ growth as an artist, his music and personal explorations, both introspectively and in the natural world.

Founder of his independent label, Commonfolk Records, and book publishing house, Commonfolk Publishing, Ziggy Alberts has managed to craft what many musicians and authors dream of – the ability to tell a story on their own terms. In 2022, Ziggy was awarded an APRA for his track letting go. He has also earned ARIA Platinum certifications for Laps Around The Sun (Double Platinum), Gone, Runaway, Heaven, Love Me Now, Stronger and Four Feet in the Forest (EP), plus Gold certifications for his Laps Around The Sun album and six tracks in his catalogue.

Tickets to the REWIND TOUR – SOUTH AFRICA 2022 are on sale from https://breakoutevents.co.za
