When I heard that Go West was coming, I called my sister immediately to tell her 🙂 We laughed so much when I played it over the phone. My sister and I know the song word for word somehow and we don’t know how (hehehe). We knew the song but we didn’t know who sang it 🙂 We are both children of the 80’s and we grew up with our dad playing cassettes from his tape deck. What fantastic memories we have! #‎80sRewindSA The song that I am so looking forward to is King of Wishful Thinking by Go West (hehehe). My sister and I know the song word for word somehow and we don’t know how (hehehe). Cannot wait to get our groove on when they get on stage (hehehe).

Hi, I was Born in the 80’s, grew up listening to music from the 50’s – 80’s, was greatly influenced by my late father and truly appreciate the genius of the artists of the 80’s who created magic with every lyric they wrote. i appreciate this music and my daughter who is now 3 is only listening to music from the 50’s – 90’s as the new stuff aint music but noise and does not make sense…i want to win to honour my dad’s memory for showing me what MUSIC really is…

She helped me learn that song in primary school for a competition, and everytime I hear it it brings such a smile to my face! No matter what age I get, I will always feel like a kid listening to that song. I would love to go to this show because you don’t get music like 80s music!

These artists are all good but if I had to choose a favourite, I would have to go local, with Cinema. I have good memories of playing my cassettes until the tape stretched and my vinyls until they were scratched while singing at the top of my voice and dancing around my parents living room…

Billy Ocean – Stay The Night (1980) is a song that brings back such great memories for me, I was in High School in the 80’s, this is MY music, MY generation, MY time, I loved the 80’s, they were the best and nothing can compare to that time. I would do anything to attend this festival and be transported back to a time when everything was so perfect and the music was fantastic!!!

Awesome blog and website, really love the insight into what is happening in Durbs. After living in Durban my whole life, I really didn’t realise how much was going on and what we had to experience in this awesome city! I absolutely love the 80’s era – and we often have Singstar evenings and belt out all the hits – it’s an absolute hoot! You can be sure I will be belting out all the lyrics if we win the tickets, especially “Walking on Sunshine”!

While HAZELL DEAN continues Searchin’ for a FACE TO FACE with CINEMA so that they can find that special ‘My Kind Of Girl’ as they dance with KATRINA. They will all have fun tonight as WANG CHUNG joins them to sing and everyone swoons to CUTTING CREWs’ I Just Died In your Arms.

Nik Kershaw singing “I won’t let the sun go down go down on me” has to be one of my favourite songs of all time. It takes me back to the good old days in East London in high school with friends who are still friends to this very day. The 80’s were a very special time and all the songs still play in my home today. What a way to go back to yesteryear than seeing them all in concert one more time!

My Brother and I definitely have the love of 80’s music in common, it is undoubtedly the best Genre of Music ever, when we were little, we used to wait for the songs on the radio and record them onto tapes and play them back and enjoy for hours.
Listening to a collaboration of so many 80’s songs on one night will be a dream come true, and to hear them live will be awesome. I would love for my brother and I to go to this concert and re-live our childhood memories, we really need that to just have one night of our childhood again, Please, Please Please, pick me!!!! Thank you
