uShaka set to make the most of Heritage weekend!

With Heritage weekend upon us, uShaka Marine World is aiming to truly embrace the variety of cultures that make up our South African heritage, so visitors to the park can expect only the best in fun and entertainment to suit all who are proud of this beautiful country.

Get in with the musical action and come to Durban’s favourite marine theme park where you will find an array of artists, and amazing shows to keep you entertained all day long.

Dates to diarise:

  • Every week day until 27th September, you can catch daily performances by the uShaka Mascots, zulu dancers and Circus Balloon, the only inflatable Circus in SA, which is sure to be fun for the whole family.
  • For every talented wanna be artist out there uShaka will be hosting the Search for the Stars competition, sponsored by the Department of Arts and Culture. Come support  the talent from around the Province with the finals taking place on Sunday, 27th September.
  • Wahooz on the Promenade also presents vibrant South African bands such as, Afritude on Saturday, September 26th, and Philani Ngidi every Sunday from12 noon to 5pm. Be there to sing and dance along to these live performances.
  • Then, on the Heritage long weekend, September 24th till 27th, uShaka Marine World will be featuring their legendary heritage parades at10:45am and 1:45pm; as well as Bhangra dancers, contemporary dancers, football dancers, DJ Happy Girl, Will B, Marimba & Steel drums, wedding singers, amongst others and Wet ‘n Wild goers, will also be able to dance to the vibes of DJ Spike.
  • Plus, Wahooz on the Promenade will be hosting a best dressed competition on Heritage Day itself (24th September), as well as a Heritage Sundowner with DJ Happy Girl where cocktails and draught beer will be on promotion between 4pm and 7pm.
  • Also from 25th – 27th September watch out for drink specials with activations and promotions as well as the Wahooz live entertainment lineup as well as their special heritage menu serving up Shisa Nyama made up of brisket, boerewors, pap and relish, Lamb bunny chow – a quarter lamb bunny served with sambals, and delicious vetkoek served with savoury mince. Diners can order meal and beer combo deals which are available on request.
  • Take up the Awesome 4some deal – Buy combo tickets for yourself and 3 people, young or old, and pay 30% less – saving you up to R239. This deal runs every day from now until September 30th, 2015
  • Friday, September 25 – Haute Cuisine Meets Haute Couture at Cargo Hold! Between each course, we’ll present collections from big names who have recently showcased at Africa Fashion Week London, SA Men’s Fashion Week and Durban Fashion Fair as well as exciting emerging talents such as Freddy Fashion Design, Hombre, Rooi Rok Bokkie, Zarth, Arabella couture and Mike Narainsamy. So, join us for a wonderful evening of wining dining and glamour by booking. Tickets cost just R285 per person
  • Saturday, September 26th – 12 hours of hip and happening entertainment with a line-up of performance favourites – From 9am until 9pm, MCs Sammy Sosa, Shelton Forbez and Mzokoloko will ensure that you keep breaking it down to the vibes of KO, Big Nuz, DJ Tira, DJ Shimza, Duncan, Zakwe, Joocy, Feel, Benny Maverick, Junior De Rocka, King Sfiso, Mario Ogle and Dreamteam. All this for only for only R158 per person.

So if you thought you didn’t have plans to celebrate; well now you do! Heritage month will be full of fun, excitement and will educate visitors on SA’s diversity with the showcasing of different cultural dances.

Your Next Blu Blood Experience Awaits

BUMP & GRIND – Back By Popular Demand

Back by popular demand, Durban comedy favourites Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert-McIlroy return to the Northlands Bowling Club, in Durban North for audiences who missed the show the first time around.
