The 19th November 2016 saw KZN’s top mountain biking athletes cleaned up and looking forward to another ROAG event of a more sophisticated kind. The well-known KZN based sports events company hosted a formal awards dinner in Eston at the stunning Eden Lassie Wedding Venue.
Now in its fifth year, the annual Quattro ROAG Series has grown in stature and popularity as a provincial mountain biking series that takes place throughout KZN. This year over 13 500 riders participated in the series that focuses on encouraging young and up-and-coming riders to compete as well as offering a platform for social and elite riders to challenge their friends and counterparts for bragging rights and prize-money.
The guests in attendance included professional athletes and winners across all age categories with the total prize money being awarded amounting to over R117 000. The guest speaker for the evening was none other then Henri Schoeman, the South African Triathlete who grabbed headlines in August when he won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
